Happily Ever After? Please!

To shed a little light on fairy tales...
BLAME IT ALL ON THEM.

Preacher Slyish Rose

Okay, so, yes,  I am a Christian. I go to a small traditional southern Episcopalian church where everyone is family (not really, but it feels pretty darn close!) Well yesterday, the 30th and the first Sunday after Christmas, our Preacher was going to be out of town visiting relatives for Christmas, and so he asked me to deliver the message (also called the sermon or homily.) I just LOVE public speaking! And being able to have the opportunity to teach about Jesus Christ just made my world and taught me so much! It was a sermon about Advent and waiting and how important it is to remain positive amidst all the anxiety! I wrote it myself (its completely original) and does have a few joking comedic parts and parts that relate to my personal life. I hop you enjoy it! Here it is:

Happy Almost 2013!

Smart Girl: Bit 2

Okay, so I came to my senses and realized that maybe my Storisomes had been buried under other posts. So, I am giving you guys another piece of my precious writing, in hopes that with the more readers we have accumulated, I will get more feedback. So, with no more "much ado about nothing," here you go.

Smart Girl: Bit 2
By: Teen Wiki

"–You think about it! Paparazzi will be all over me, I’ll be moved to someplace in California or New York or something like that, and I won’t even be able to take a walk with privacy! Besides, they wouldn’t even care about you. Some rich couple with no feelings would probably adopt me just to steal my fame. Some up-shot actors with no humility. Then you would be stuck here alone with Pauline and I’d be stuck somewhere else a thousand miles away!”
“Well then, why’d you show him your stack?” he said. That was so like him. One minute he’ll be celebrating something and the next he’ll be blaming me for the same thing once he figures out it’s not a good thing. Mark’s my thirteen-year-old brother, by the way. He looked after me (which was hardly even necessary) before Pauline found us in the cardboard shack we were left in (by who, we don’t know) in a dark alleyway in Bayonne, New Jersey and took us in. But after it became apparent that I was very precocious, which didn’t take long, she decided that I needed a quiet life to think. So which better place for that than Wyoming, the least populated state in America? Well, then here in Wyoming she put her cooking skills to use and opened a restaurant. No one ever comes but we kind of liked it that way. You’re probably wondering how we make a living then. Well, when the food truck comes over every three months we always pay by my stories or something. I wrote them under a pseudonym and they can sell them for big money. Yeah, I really don’t care that much for fame, though, as you can tell, but the food truck guys are still honorable enough not to sell them as their own. (Or maybe they’re just scared they’ll be asked to write stuff they can’t and then people will think they’re plagiarists.) So, that way we have enough essentials to live and each other and we’re just happy that way. But now this Todd Hadden guy has ruined all of that.
“Who was I to think that he was a columnist?” I retorted.
“Oh great, because you wanted to be a show-off, we’re dead. I’ll go tell Pauline that you’re going off to some big shot city while we sit here and rot.”
“I wasn’t trying to be a show-off! Why do you always have to blame everything on me?! The guy was curious! So I let him look at the stuff!”
“Curiosity killed the cat, Melody! Ever heard of that?”
“Of course I have! What, do you think I’m dumb?”
To this he had no reply, because I was a genius, there was no denying that. In fact that was the whole reason we were in this mess anyway.

So, did you like? If you do, shout out to us on Facebook or Twitter, comment, or something!

My Goals For This Year

So you guys... school is starting back soon. REAL soon. It is going to creep up on us... waiting to pop out and scare us! And now that we have gotten out of the ways of just how excited I am, let's get on with it. Just like any normal child, I am going to strive  to have a really good year! So.... I have created a personal list of goals to help me keep on a schedule that can guide me to reach his goal! But, I am not sharing this with you so that you can know every detail about my life stalkerishly *new word!*, more as inspiration to create your own.

1) Keep Academics as my NUMBER ONE! At all times. Do not let drama or friends get in the way of it. It is the most important thing about school (you know, learning!) So throughout the whole year, I AM going to keep a 95 average (at the very least) in all subjects, even on progress reports. No questions. So great thing I have friends who will push me to achieve this and support me instead of rival me. *Thanks TeenWiki!* This also includes no intentional missing assignments. No zeros in the gradebook.

2) Be very active in any extracurriculars I can! Academically speaking, there are plenty to participate in! Academic Quiz Bowl! Math Team! I just need to involve myself in these things to broaden my understanding of them and to let me learn more!

3) Be active in drama. Theatre is very important to me, and is something I genuinely enjoy! Being so, I would like to involve myself in as much of that as possible. My new school has a VERY rigorous and developing drama department, with a heck of a good teacher! It equips you to take your talents even farther. They go to many theatrical competitions within the year, including the Junior Theatre Festival, Junior Theatre Conference, One- Act Theatrical Competition, and a few more I cannot remember! So that is gonna be pretty cool....

4) Keep on the good side with all my classmates. I want to be a person who is friends with everybody, and has no enemies. Who can open up and be themselves, and not be made fun of. So I'm really going to strive to be nice and very Christian-like to everybody next year. And knowing my class mates, I'm gonna need a lot of self discipline!!

5) Have good behavior. I, not being the perfect child, do slip up sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I am no juvenile delinquent, I have never gotten into a fist fight or sent to the Principal's Office (and I don't plan to.) But nonetheless, I would like to build up my self discipline and keep my temper with people. I tend to sometimes have a wee bit of a problem with that, but that is officially a thing of the past!

And there ya go! That's my main goals for next year! So  you have seen mine, now I would LOVE to see yours! Email us at lifewithwikiandrose@gmail.com and we will read it, love it, and respond! In fact, that is the challenge! Do it, and you will get acknowledged!! It will make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside! SOOO, 3...2...1.... GO!

Popularity

Hey you guys! I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately! It has been SO busy! I have a seriously sick family member so I have been spending some time with them.  But I do have a nice piece planned for you guys. I'm very opinionated on it. It is: Popularity!

My views on popularity... who really cares? The air headed popular guys? Wow they seem like keepers! What I'm saying is, why does being popular even matter? Will it matter in 30 years when life is completely dependent on the decisions you have made? Nope! Won't make a dent! Will the size of you're paycheck be on the line if you don't get these new shoes? I seriously doubt it! And do you know why? Because, actually, no body cares! As I, the nerd, see it popularity is really just insecurities. The need to be above everybody else to function. Having to know you're the best (looking) in order to go on. And doing anything to make sure you stand in this position. Are you really so insecure about your face you need to change it? Or so insecure about you're height? Or you're hair? Or even you're feet? Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with wanting to look pretty. But there is a huge difference in complimenting yourself, and changing yourself. HUGE! And do you want to be the person who looks like they dislike them selves so much they NEED to be changed?

What IS popularity? 'Dating' the hottest guy in school (the airhead you must tolerate for the rest of you're life?) Spending all your money on the hottest trends (Guaranteeing you have no college money?) Pushing others down so that you may stand taller (Ya, you may be the pretty one, but who TRULY likes you?) Personally, I do not want to be that person. I am most definitely fine sticking with the nerds!  I don't even want to be popular , and I'm sure I never will be. And I do not tolerate them either. I want to be the one who knows how to say no. Who likes the herself and who she is becoming. Who isn't afraid to sit with the new kid at lunch. The question is- Is that you? Is that who you WANT to be?

Well, as usual, I have a little challenge for you guys! When school starts- Be yourself. Don't worry about popularity. Think about the future consequences - Not only the present, and most certainly not the past. Comment on here, our Facebook, or our Twitter about yours goals this year, or a story of something selfless you have done, and you will have a chance to get acknowledged on our Facebook! 3...2...1... GO!

Theatre and I!

If you do not already know this about me, I am OBSESSED with theatre! From School to broadway! I don't have to be in it, just watching makes my heart skip a beat. I participate in any drama-related extra-curricular possible. This means every club, every play, everything I can! I love it! And I have seen a lot of plays, too! Check out da list (I'm only going to mention the ones I have seen Off-Broadway)
  • Legally Blonde the Musical- based off the hit movie starring Reese Witherspoon, Elle Woods (a preppy sorority blonde played by Laura Bell Bundy) chases her 'one true love' to Harvard Law, where she has many adventures, and finds herself a whole new woman by the end of the tale!
Fave Song: Legally Blonde and Whipped Into Shape
  • Annie- at the Fox Theatre, Annie takes a spin for the best! In fact, I saw this play after competing (and winning, I may add) a national thespian competition, which made it all the more enjoyable!
Fave Song: Little Girls and You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile
  • Wicked- a hilarious prequel to the movie and book, The Wizard of Oz. Starring Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth, this entertaining musical introduces The Wicked Witch, Glinda the Good, Dorothy, and all her friends, along the way explaining how The Wicked Witch isn't so 'Wicked!'
Fave Song: No Good Deed and Defying Gravity
  • Mamma Mia!- This was the most recent one I saw, and still the most clear in my mind. But this fascinating musical (whose music was done by the classic ABBA) demonstrates the importance of a mother-daughter bond, and just how unimportant men are! Just kidding, it actually says just the opposite! The more the merrier!
Fave Song: Money, Money, Money and Honey, Honey
That's it! Though I hope to see more soon! And the ironic thing is, my favorite musical isn't even one I've seen! It is In The Heights! An amazing musical about a struggling latino community glued together with love! GREAT music! Look it up! In fact, that is today's challenge! Then post a fun fact you learned about it! To get acknowledged on Facebook, comment on here, Facebook, or Twitter. Thanks! And I know I promised something hilarious today, but I'm kinda struggling here with TeenWiki away! I mean, it takes a village to raise a child... and I'm only one person!! More to come soon though! Promise! Love you guys!

Twitter Glitches and Bad Babysitters!

So I'm truly sorry, to all those faithful followers out there who are on Twitter with us, but currently there is a small glitch in the Twitter system. Ok- Big Glitch! It says I have 0Followers and 0Following and I know for a fact that is a plain out fib. I know the truth! And in addition, it's not letting me tweet! RECKLATS!!! So for all of you looking forward to the daily bible verse, I'm sorry! But anyways...

Today I had a babysitter (you know I am in my teen years, but no specific age.) Technically she wasn't really for me, more so for my messes I can't clean up: My 8 year old sister and 10 year old brother. But I, being old enough to babysit, was observing her ways and techniques. And that is very hard to do if she doesn't have any. She was at our house for 11 hours and did not leave the couch (or her phone) once! Well she did leave it one time... and it was to pick up my sister's Nintendo DSI to throw it away in the trash can. Nice going! *Add that to the technique list- throw away the children's expensive electronics* So I asked her why she did that and she said, "I have been cleanin up ya'll's messes ALL day" and, in my head, I was thinkin "Welll Sweetie Pie! You have been on the couch all day eating our food and spreading gossip through the phone to every corner of town! So hush, honey!" But I, being a more respectful person, did NOT say that. I simply said, "Oh ok." Got the game out of the trash and returned it to my sister End of story.

I'm sorry that this blog was more of a rant this a funny post, I just had to get it out of my system! Check in tomorrow, I have a HILARIOUS post planned!! So check in frequently! Buh-Bye for now!
-SlyishRose

P.S. I was really kidding about what I said about my siblings being my messes I can't clean up. I love them a lot and pray everyday about how lucky I am to have them! Sooo... yepp(:

David's Dancing

Today at church, my preacher's sermon really touched me. I'm definitely not one of those kids who doesn't pay attention during the sermon, though. I don't count the light fixtures (20,) wooden boards on the ceiling (72,) or air vents (12.) I don't count the pews in the Sanctuary (22), or the Polka dots on the blouse on the lady in front of me (63.) That most definitely does NOT sound like me! But in all seriousness, I do like to pay attention to the sermon. It is my favorite part. I even have a little journal that I write down a mini-synopsis of them in each Sunday after church. But today, I must admit, was my favorite of them all. The subject: Outward Appearances.

Suitcases

This might seem totally random, and maybe it might go unappreciated. But for those of you that travel a lot, or sell them, or whatever, please read this. I spent my greatly treasured time on this post.
Anyway, as you might know, I must be out-of-town for the next week. Refer to Bye... for details. So, since my duffel bag wasn't really working, with its limited space and non-existent wheels, I had to REPACK into another suitcase. Yeah, repack. As in all the grunt work I had to do to fit bed linens and towels and, like, seventeen changes of clothes into a small 2 by 1 foot space, with the shoving and kicking and hurting my fingers, just went wasted. I had to re-experience all my hard strivings in the mist of a mothball smell. Have any of you noticed that? Suitcases always smell like mothballs. And I get nauseated really easily, so I was soon feeling like a Tylenol. Then came the zipping part. That is the absolute worst part of packing. You have to bring in your little sibling and them lie down on top as you zip. And sometimes that isn't even enough. This is like the only time that couch potatoes come in handy. The more CP someone is, the fatter they are, the more they will weigh, totally helping your case! Ha ha, no pun intended. Anyway, anyone else super strongly dislike suitcases as much as I do?

Scared to Sleep!

So, as we were watching Edward Scissorhands as a family last night (which we would NEVER be doing if my mother were at the beach, not home,) I couldn't help but to steal a few glances at my brother and sister, who's faces looked as if they just saw future them come back to say hello. They. Were. TERRIFIED. After the worst ending EVER, my siblings were at their climax of the night, and are pasted to me as we travel up the stairs. I turn toward my room, expecting us all to branch off, but NO! They follow me and as soon as they are through the doorway they SPRINT into my room an collapse on my bed. Scaredy- Cats!! I reprimand them on knowing when they are not wanted, then realize the true terror in their eyes. They sleep in my room. I think that as all 3 of us slept in that full size bed last night though, we experienced a new bond. We learned new things about each other. I learned that one snores, one sleep- talks, and I am officially the only normal child.

Bye... For a Week

I have to go away, for a week. Starting Monday. On some summer camp thing that my church offered. So no posts from me, for an entire week, in a row. I know, so sad. However, to keep up the sadness, I have written a very sad-themed poem for you guys. Read and weep.

Funny Twitter(:

So, Great News!! LifeWithWikiAndRose is now OFFICIALLY on Facebook and Twitter! I will add a tab to our home screen revealing all contact information. So follow, subscribe, and like us! We really appreciate all the support!

Anyways, I was scoping around on our Twitter account, looking at the live feed. I have just gotta point out that you don't have to post every time you eat a banana! I mean GREAT job! So proud! *And in case you couldn't hear the sarcasm, it was most definitely there* But, as a writer, one thing I LOVE is humor. Comedy. It's great! What can I say? I love to laugh! So, out of curiosity, I looked up 'Funny Tweets' on the World Wide Web, and I will now share with you the hilarious ridiculousness I have worked so hard to find!

Fortune Cookies

What's the point? Yes they are positive, upbeat messages to motivate you to strive to get more in life (most likely used with the pharmaceutically tested Placebo Effect process.) But honestly- What's the big deal? Have you yet to have a fortune actually come true? That's what I thought! It's extremely rare! *if you have had a fortune come true, leave me the story *with details* in the comments* I have a few funny stories of my own in fact(:

So once at my old church (before I moved,) my preacher was out sick and we hadn't scheduled anybody to fill in. So of course, we did improv stand up comedy at our traditional Episcopal Church! One person told a story about their son who had gotten a fortune cookie that said, "You have completed your goal in life. Complete it on another planet. The aliens will come to abduct you at precisely 12 tomorrow. Be prepared!" It was crazy! He had the fortune as proof! And it scared his poor son half to death! And just for your reassurance, I will add, he did NOT get abducted. Oh shocker! It didn't come true! So my point is made!

And just for the record, I'm gonna point out I am not 'dissing' on fortune cookies, or the cultural tradition behind them. I am simply putting my opinion onto the world wide web. And just because I love my viewers SO much- I am going to post an amusing picture, just for YOU!

iPhone Cases

So I was just wondering around in the electronics section in Target, and the it came to me. There are SO many different iphone cases out there! SO many!! Soooo I am going to put links on this page and I would REALLY love it if you checked em out, and if you like one... buy it! A favor from me to you(:

Parachuting

Once, my preacher was preaching on Easter, and he said the one on the cross who was crying out to Jesus just to be saved was praying a parachute prayer. You know, parachutes are handy to pull out when you're falling, and that's the problem with some of us. We only pray when we need something. And that's a bad habit. it's also a hard habit to break. Something that has helped me lots in dealing with this issue is writing my prayers. Aibileen from The Help was smart. If you write down your prayers daily, it will keep you from only asking God for things you need at the moment. How I teach my little sister to read, I tell her to tell God hi, then tell Him about her day, how she wants her next one to be like. It really works. You should try it.

Over- Manufacturing!

So over the past few weeks of summer, I've been doing a lil' shopping! And as I looked over all the 'stuff' I bought, I realize just how over- manufactured it all is! The original is JUST as good, but people (like me) see the newer stuff that is the same thing, just physically mutated. Now, just so that you may see the ridiculousness of reality, I have put a few pictures.

1) My brand new All Star Converse - Yes, they are a mix of Toms/Bobs and converse. Crazy! I have 7 pairs of converse, and 6 of them are the original model and I like them just as much, if not more, BECAUSE they are the original! So check for over manufacturing? Check!

Converse mixed with Toms/Bobs
Einstein flashdrive
2) My new flash-drive. Yes, it is Einstein. Let me repeat: My. Flash. Drive. Is. Einstein! And if you rip off his highly intelligent head- you find the USB porter. Why does it matter what it looks like? Cause all it really looks is crazy anyways! As long as it holds my junk- I'm cool! So product 2? Check!

3) Last but not certainly not least! My new peas and carrot candy made by the one and only- Jelly Belly. They are orange sherbet and green apple flavored VEGETABLES! Need i go on?
Vegetable Beans
I think not! Product 3? Check!

So no you see what i mean! The preposterousness of modern day! If that is even a word! But then again, i was crazy and modern enough to buy it! Well anyways, comment or email me if you have a product that you think fits into the category! Maybe if i get enough feedback, i will do a part 2!

How-To: Be Deemed Responsible

So, earlier, my father told me that since I was more responsible, I might get the laptop I was promised for the birthday after the one in three months (Ha ha, see what I did there?) eariler. But beware, whenever a grown-up tells you that you're responsible, it's just their reverse-psychology plan to get you to be responsible. So, I've been trying to be more responsible, because I need a laptop. So, I thought I might put together a little pictographic tutorial as well on this concept.

How-To: Be Deemed Responsible

First off, though I know it's hard, never leave your room looking like this.

SSS Revealed!!

SSS here! So I've been playing this little trick on my bestie, TeenWiki, for a little while now. Ive gone under the name SSS and commented on everything she has posted and acted like some crazy, stalker, obsessive fan (which in a way, I was.) Now, after a couple of weeks, she has figured it out! Dear SlyishRose is SSS! Hahaha(: now she has offered me a full companionship deal on the blog! So you will now get posts from both of us! Just wanted to introduce myself! If you want to learn more about me, check out my profile or send me a comment! You have no clue how much we appreciate it! And I now issue a self- challenge: I will comment back on every comment posted. But i'm just gonna put it out there that that is hard to do with no comments(: so start 3...2...1... NOW! - SlyishRose(:

BIG NEWS!!!!

Okay, so you guys know my SSS? Secret Soul Sister? The one that always leaves behind those sweet comments? Well, I finally figured out who she is, my absolute best friend that I always go on about! And, now, we have decided to fully collaborate on this blog. I am changing my name to Teen Wiki (a hint about my age, huh?) and her name is.... Slyish Rose. So, on August 1st, our URL, website will be officially changing to www.lifewithtwandsr.blogspot.com. Isn't that exciting? However, since she cannot wait, she will begin posting immediately, and you all will be revealed to her awesomeness. So, please, once you are aware that this is happening and changes are going to happen, please leave a comment and let us now. Thank you.

Bugs

Ahhhh! Okay, sorry, that was just to let out the anxiety I've been harnessing all night. Have I told you I have a thing for bugs? And, not a good thing. Like, a BAD thing. So, I was not a happy trouper last night when this flying cockroach THING flew past me in my bedroom. And it was past midnight already.

"Artemis 2" is the shipping name that Catching Fire is under. You know, as in THE SECOND MOVIE OF THE HUNGER GAMES? Well, there is a bunch of information about the filming of the movie on this post at Acting Auditions, and guess what, the extras call information will be posted on this website first! So, be sure to continuously check it, and while you're at it, check mine lots, too. Because I don't know about the rest of you, but it has been my pretty much lifelong DREAM to be a film actor. And while I'm young, too. So, I HAVE to go to the extras calling. And, to mention, it's not only the experience, it's the fact that they pay you as well. Eight hundred dollars. A day. To be on the set of Catching Fire! But, the thing is, my parents aren't that supportive of my acting, haven't I told you that before. So, in order to go, I would have to drag my knees in dirt, and much more. Urghh, it's irritating. But there is NO way I am letting this big of an opportunity get away from me.

Customer Service

Today, I had to call Customer Service for support, and it has just occurred to me how much these people must dislike their jobs. I'm sure they get prank-called a lot. But, for your amusement, I've recorded some of my conversation with this customer helper.

Me: Okay, I'm pushing down the button.

CS: Good.

Me: Um, how long am I supposed to hold down the button?

CS: Until we tell you to let go, ma'am.

Fireworks

So, I finally got to see some sparklers on the 4th. My friend's family invited me to go with them to a special person dinner thing, and we sat on the balcony watching fireworks. They were amazing! And, on spur of the moment, I wrote a poem! Enjoy.

Independence Day

Happy birthday, America! And to those others of you that feel totally hip to share your birthday with Uncle Sam, as well. Me, however, this is the first time I'll do something beside sit at home and laze around. My local acting camp is throwing a parade around downtown, and I'm excited to go and be a part of it! Just hope it doesn't rain! Because, yeah, my family doesn't really celebrate holidays traditionally. We've never lit sparklers, never bought them. Last year we didn't even spend Thanksgiving together since half of my family was visiting family. And, we haven't had a Christmas tree in year, because we're never all home on Christmas, we're usually somewhere since that time of year has the most vacation. So, this is exciting for me. Finally being able to celebrate a holiday somewhat normally. :) And I know this is totally random, so thank you those who read this.

Oh, and I just found this, and find it quite hilarious. It's a Christmas ornament, but it celebrates another holiday!... Or maybe I'm the only one who finds irony funny.

Haha, right? Or not....

Scarred: Bit 2

Well, peoples, congratulations. You have somehow managed to please my never-ending hunger for pageviews and comments. Just a little. Especially since I learned that there is something wrong with the commenting application. I will proceed to send an angry letter to Google. Anyhow, here is the second tidbit.

Sarie Wisdom

Okay, so, a while back, I wrote this story. And, although it does give my identity away quite a bit, I thought it was worth it, because it is such an awesome story! Okay, I'm sorry. I'm not really being modest here. But, I wrote it with a, like, five page restraint, so it's not the absolute best. But, I really don't think it's horrible either. Here you go:

Beyond Sunday Morning: Not Like God

Beyond Sunday Morning: Not Like God: Faults. I have many and today I am going to confess one of my many faults to all of you. I say this like a little girl, face buried in...

This is so much like what I was trying to say in my Commitment post, but couldn't quite get it. She explains it so much better

Physical Education

Ugh, I absolutely despise P.E. I mean, hardly anyone doesn't. Anyone that's a chick, that is. And those Presidential Fitness Test things, who seriously WANTS to run a mile. So, I, for one, walked it. I mean, my tummy was hurting anyway, and if I ran, I was going to throw up. And, considerately, I thought that the P.E. coach wouldn't want to clean up my puke, so I walked it. Every last step.
Anyway, usually, when we have some not-really-required-that-you-have-to-play-because-they-like-it-better-when-you-don't game, my friends and I find other ways to occupy our time. And I suggest you use them, too.

Uses for Rubbing Alcohol

Okay, so, stupid me, I thought hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol were the same thing, so I was going to use rubbing alcohol to bleach my hair, like Anne Frank did. But, luckily, I looked it up on the Internet first, and apparently it REALLY dries out your skin and hair. So, precaution: DO NOT APPLY RUBBING ALCOHOL TO YOUR BODY! Well, not in large portions anyway. I continued searching and found some really great uses for it.

How-To: Act Like You're Not Crying When You Are (Or Vice Versa)

Yes, this is a much desired skill. Scenarios: Watching a really dramatic movie but not wanting to seem like a baby, trying to comfort your crying friend without crying yourself to just make them feel worse, and when you really need to skip out of gym class (because you've got girly issues, but your coach is a guy), but your coach is seriously insensitive. Yeah, girls, ya'll've got to admit with me that it's true. So, I thought I would write a little how-to on crying.

How NOT to cry:

Scarred: Bit 1

Okay, peoples. Here it is. The first post in the new story in the new series Storisome. This story is called Scarred. It's about a girl who gets burnt in a freak fire. And that's all that I'm saying. you have to read to find out more. Also, I'm still an amateur writer, so, if you want to say something about it, let's keep it to constructive criticism. Please? Well, here you go. Enjoy.

Scarred: Bit 1

I remember it all. The fire’s searing hot burn as it enclosed the train.

School's Out! :))

Oh. My. Gosh. School is out, and I am seriously rejoicing. Loving it. The freedom, the time, oh, I LOVE it! And, you should too, because, more time equals more posts. So, be expecting more from me. I've set up a poll, though I don't know if it's updated yet. What it is is that I want you to tell me what you want more posts on. If you can't find the poll, just leave a comment.
I love you, my fans!
P.S. I will soon be starting a new series called Storisome. It's where I will post bits and pieces of some stories. By Yours Truly!

What a Waste

Proverbs 11:12

A beautiful woman who rejects good sense is like a gold ring in a pig’s snout.

Ha, have you noticed that my faves are always ones about how outer appearances aren’t important? So, let me break it down. The way I see it. So a beautiful woman who rejects good sense. Well, I have a feeling it’s a little more than a “dumb blonde.” No, just kidding. But yes, I think, if I relate it to our generation, it means that what good is beauty if your making a mess with your life, not showing good sense? Like those teenage moms. I guess they had to be “pretty” to be where they are. But what good does that do them, if they lacked good judgment. If they didn’t stay away from those bad influences. The comparison is a gold ring in a pig’s snout. Well, that is pretty harsh. The pig is probably the most stereotypical dirtiest and lowliest animal there is. And to take a gold ring. Think solid, 24 carat gold. Several ounces of it, so pure, carved into a gentle hoop, and where is it given? A pig. What a waste, you might think. I sure think that. So that’s what this verse is saying. What a waste is beauty on a girl/woman if they make bad decisions.

Dystopian Fiction

Christmas present from Pig.
I've just got to say, all dystopian fiction is looking to be a total copycat of The Hunger Games. Well, at least that's what I've heard. So, being a total Hunger Games fan, I picked up Matched, by Ally Condie. I have got to say, yes, it was TOTAL copy cat. Now, the plot idea, that was different. It's all dystopian fiction, but, it was a bit different. But the plot points, totally similar. Almost identical.
Let's pretend Ky is Peeta, Xander is Gale, and Cassia is Katniss. Shouldn't be difficult. At all. Now, we get on to the ideas that really support that.

Tests

Okay, everyone raise their hands. Yes, high, high, up. Now, put your hands down if you don't like school. Put your hands down if you don't like tests. Put your hands down if you don't like fail-or-pass the grade tests. Thank you. Those of you still raising your hand, you are a nerd. Sorry, but it's the truth. Yes, seriously, testing wears me out. I am a braniac, though, so I study like crazy and check my answers over and over, and use up every last minute so that my classmates start yelling at me to hurry up. But, other than that, I hate the tests. They were created by sadists or something. Boredom has got to be the worst torture! Yeah, many of you MUST agree. Nerds can't be the only ones out there reading my blog, right? If you agree with me, leave a comment.

Popularity

Hi again. So, since so many of you liked Outward Appearances the best, here's a little follow-up. Still the same verse, but this time a different focus. To refresh your memory, the verse was Proverbs 31:30; "Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be blessed." This time around, I want to focus on the charm part.

Love Like Crazy

Love Like Crazy by Lee Brice is one of my most favorite songs in the world. One of the reasons is because I'm a total romance lover. Also, I think the chorus is a great guide to live life.

Wealth

Apparently, the most popular post with you guys is Outward Appearances. I don't know if it's because you really feel for the unfairness of, well, fairness. Ha ha. Or if it's because you like the references to verses. Well, in case it's the latter, I have another verse reference for you.

Shooting High

Okay, now, you might have heard, from an array of adults, to shoot high. Okay. Well, thank you adults, for THAT part. Listen, to that part... and that part only. Ignore all other comments about how you could never achieve that goal, how you could do better, and how you'll never get far in life doing that. Focus on the now. Do what you love. And don't be afraid to dream. Big.
As you know, I LOVE acting. Now, my parents don't support my love for acting as much as they do my writing. I wish they did. But, I am genuinely interested in acting, so I am going to continue to act. I'll find my own way that involves my own interests. I dream big. I'm determined to someday be a Hollywood actress. I will ignore any discouraging comments. Okay?
Do what YOU want to do. YOU know what you like to do. Not your parents. Or your teachers. I'm not telling you to be rebellious. Just to follow YOURSELF.

Outward Appearances

Proverbs 31:30 states that "Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be blessed."
This verse really speaks to me. What my interpretation of it is that, outward appearances are not what matter. It's what's on the inside that does. I really love this, because, I totally agree. It's just that the world doesn't. They still judge on that. And, I'll come clean, sometimes I still do as well. It's the way the world has influenced us to think. You know, I heard on the radio a while back that some people were protesting that good-looking people had an unfair advantage to employment. Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, and others were more likely to hire people with better looks than those without. Well, duh. I think that's kind of self-explanatory, but this IS an example of how our world-view is this: The prettier someone is, the more likable that person is. Hello! Why? Besides, the world's picture of beauty varies. In Africa, obesity is considered beautiful. NOT here. At all. So, I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that it is what is on the inside that matters. Many of us have always subconsciously accepted that (thanks to counselors and increasing suicide rates), but we have to really accept that fact. Listen, blessings won't come because you're pretty, or you're the most popular. No, blessings come from one place. One person. The Lord.

Commitment

Okay, this just came to my mind. But, I really want to know if this is true for you others. I have this issue. It's where, I'll want to really commit to a task, but then I'll get other ideas and stray from it. Like, I mentioned, I love to write. But, I have NUMEROUS stories that I have started and never finished. Apparently, I have a really short attention span. That's kind of what happened with my other blogs. I get sidetracked. Bored. So, hope this isn't too much too ask, but how about you readers out there help me stick to this one by reading my blog, following it, leaving comments, the sorts. Oh, and, if any of you have the same problem as me, send me an email and let me know. Isn't that why we're here? To know that we aren't alone?
