Proverbs 31:30 states that "Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be blessed."
This verse really speaks to me. What my interpretation of it is that, outward appearances are not what matter. It's what's on the inside that does. I really love this, because, I totally agree. It's just that the world doesn't. They still judge on that. And, I'll come clean, sometimes I still do as well. It's the way the world has influenced us to think. You know, I heard on the radio a while back that some people were protesting that good-looking people had an unfair advantage to employment. Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, and others were more likely to hire people with better looks than those without. Well, duh. I think that's kind of self-explanatory, but this IS an example of how our world-view is this: The prettier someone is, the more likable that person is. Hello! Why? Besides, the world's picture of beauty varies. In Africa, obesity is considered beautiful. NOT here. At all. So, I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that it is what is on the inside that matters. Many of us have always subconsciously accepted that (thanks to counselors and increasing suicide rates), but we have to really accept that fact. Listen, blessings won't come because you're pretty, or you're the most popular. No, blessings come from one place. One person. The Lord.
