Uses for Rubbing Alcohol

Okay, so, stupid me, I thought hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol were the same thing, so I was going to use rubbing alcohol to bleach my hair, like Anne Frank did. But, luckily, I looked it up on the Internet first, and apparently it REALLY dries out your skin and hair. So, precaution: DO NOT APPLY RUBBING ALCOHOL TO YOUR BODY! Well, not in large portions anyway. I continued searching and found some really great uses for it.

Bug Bites:
Okay, like I said, don't apply it to your skin in large portions, though. Your skin will burn and turn red and it's just a mess. But, a small dab on a chigger bite or something of the like will use the dryness to its advantage and dull the itchiness!

Athlete's Foot: Ha! Who knew? Again, like for bug bites, it just uses the dryness to its advantage.

Cleaning: You can clean just about everything with rubbing alcohol. CDs, electronic screens, mirrors, cleaning appliances, jewelry, dry erase boards, gardening tools, you name it. I'm going to absolutely douse my bathroom in rubbing alcohol this weekend.

Sterilizing and Disinfecting: Ever since I learned what rectal meant when watching Madagascar,  I am always going to associate rubbing alcohol with that thermometer. I would have poured some all over it. Anyway, rubbing alcohol can disinfect a lot of stuff. Try doorknobs and baby toys to start.

Stain Removal: Whether it's the sweat stain around your shirt collar our an accidentally knocked over grape juice on the carpet stain, use rubbing alcohol. Just soak the stain for a while, then wash.

Defrost: But, not, like, food. DO NOT EVER INTAKE RUBBING ALCOHOL! It is really totally harmful. And I don't want anyone to die. So, really, don't eat it. Don't drink it. But, if you're tired of waiting in a freezing car while your dad tries to scrape ice and frost off, hand him some rubbing alcohol. It really helps.

Tick Removal: Ugh, gross, ticks. I, for one, have never been bitten by a tick. But I've heard that basically, they dig a hole in your skin and crawl in. Ewww! Sounds like The Mummy to me. But, what I've read, you dab some on the tick to, like, paralyze it, and them you pull it out. It seems it makes it a lot easier.

First Aid: If your child fell after you told them about a million times not to run and they still did, AND they scraped they're knee. Well, if you really wanted to teach them a lesson, rubbing alcohol disinfects cuts and scrapes, but it really, really burns and hurts. So, never mind. Don't do that, parents, it's just cruel. Use hydrogen peroxide instead.

So, those are a few uses. If you want more, you can refer to my cousin, Google. They have some more uses. And, also, words of advice: Don't mix up hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol. Big, big differences.
