Dystopian Fiction

Christmas present from Pig.
I've just got to say, all dystopian fiction is looking to be a total copycat of The Hunger Games. Well, at least that's what I've heard. So, being a total Hunger Games fan, I picked up Matched, by Ally Condie. I have got to say, yes, it was TOTAL copy cat. Now, the plot idea, that was different. It's all dystopian fiction, but, it was a bit different. But the plot points, totally similar. Almost identical.
Let's pretend Ky is Peeta, Xander is Gale, and Cassia is Katniss. Shouldn't be difficult. At all. Now, we get on to the ideas that really support that.

Cassia:
Has a sibling that she is totally protective of. (Sound like Prim and Katniss much?)
Spends a lot of time debating over her two "Hims" in her life. (Love triangle with Peeta and Gale.)
Feels like she SHOULD love one over the other, but ends up falling for the other. (How Katniss turns out.)
Has an illegal practice with one of her "Hims" (Like hunting with Gale.)
Notices the guy she eventually falls for in an event created by the central control. (Katniss meets Peeta in the Capitol-created Hunger Games.)
Ky:
More of the sweeter love. (Maybe an opinion, but Peeta is definitely sweeter than Gale.)
Very artistic. (With Peeta it's cakes and paints, and with Ky it's writing and drawing.)
Notices the girl he eventually falls for in an event created by the central control. (Peeta meets Katniss in the Capitol-created Hunger Games.)
Xander:
More athletic. (Gale is much more athletic than Peeta.)
Has been best friends with Cassia since a young age. (Katniss met Gale quite some time ago, too.)
Gets along okay with Ky, but still wants Cassia for himself. (Quote Gale, "It'd be easier if he was easier to hate.")
So, yeah. Hope you get my point. If there is anything I missed, leave a comment, and I'll put it in and credit you.

Thanks for commenting! Like, seriously, no joke. You have no idea how encouraging comments are to us! We'll have to review it, first, before it's allowed on the site, though, so we hope you said something nice! Thanks, again!
